Assorted Firefox Tips

This is where I collect Firefox tips and tricks.

  • To remove a URL from the list of suggestions that appears underneath the address bar: SHIFT-BACKSPACE (Mac) or del (Win)
  • To enable spellchecking on input boxes: type about:config in the address bar, set layout.spellcheckDefault to 2
  • To reopen a tab accidentally closed: SHIFT-cmd-T
  • To remove a single site from history: CMD-SHIFT-Hm then right click on any page from the site
  • In the address bar, show a list of URLs with a given tag type the tag followed by +
  • To stop selecting the whole address bar when clicking once: about:config, then double click browser.urlbar.clickSelectsAll and set it false
